A small, 100% halal sushi house on Rue De Koninck in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Brussels. Everything here is rolled by hand, the moment you order.

Our place

One counter, one team, one rule

Taiyaki Sushi is first and foremost a neighbourhood spot: a small, cosy dining room and a counter looking onto the kitchen, at 5 Rue De Koninck in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean.

In the kitchen there is one rule: every sushi is rolled the moment you order it. No platters made in advance, no display case. Salmon and tuna are sliced by hand and the rice is seasoned fresh every day.

Craft

It all starts with the cut

Great sushi starts with a clean cut. The fish is sliced piece by piece, right before plating or rolling your maki. It takes longer, and that is exactly why it tastes better.

Salmon and tuna selected every morning from specialist suppliers, for sushi and sashimi with a clean, honest taste.

The rice
Japanese Koshihikari rice, seasoned in-house to the chef’s own recipe. Made the same day, never the day before.

The timing
Maki, California rolls and boxes are rolled to order. You eat sushi that has just been made, not sushi that has been waiting.
